The Carole Robertson Center for Learning is thrilled to share that its location at 5101 N. Kimball Ave. in Albany Park, one of the Center’s three flagship sites, has earned accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The Carole Robertson Center for Learning commends the Illinois General Assembly for prioritizing the needs of our state’s children and families by approving Governor JB Pritzker’s Smart Start Illinois plan as part of our state’s FY24 budget.
Our E3 Gala was a tremendous success. We celebrated the work we do everyday to educate, enrich, and empower the young people we serve, introduced many new people to our work, and inspired them to support the mission. Together, we welcomed 280 guests and raised $269,000 in gross revenue, surpassing our goal of $250,000 and 250 guests.
We had the honor of welcoming Dianne Robertson Braddock, her daughter and nephew. We received an inspiring keynote from Shermann “Dilla” Thomas on the power of relationships among youth in our communities and the crucial role longstanding community centers play in fostering those relationships. We also saw the return of Jacoby Cochran, from City Cast Chicago, as our master of ceremonies.

Children and youth across the Carole Robertson Center have started the year learning about the Civil Rights Movement and the power of peaceful protest, kindness, and diversity to effect social change.
Integral to the learning and care the Carole Robertson Center for Learning provides is a dedication to meeting the mental and emotional needs of the children, families, and staff who are a part of our community. July’s Minority Mental Health Awareness Month encourages us to reflect on the role the Center plays in providing a safe and stable environment that prioritizes mental wellness for all.
