Chicago Families:
Know What’s on Your Ballot
The 2026 midterm election is happening on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and will determine who represents your community at the federal, state, and local levels. This is also the first election in which registered Chicago voters can vote for a fully-elected 21-member Chicago Board of Education. Eligible voters can register and vote on the same day, or vote by mail.
2026 Chicago School Board Voter Guide:
Why should I vote in the midterm elections?
Midterm elections are held halfway through a president’s term. Voters will elect representatives who will decide issues like education, public safety, healthcare, and taxes. Voters will not vote for president during this election.
